Since the launch of our community endoscopy service in September 2010, Prime Endoscopy Bristol has carried out endoscopies on hundreds of patients, and we are soon to complete our 1000th procedure. Our service based at Westbury on Trym Primary Care centre currently carries out gastroscopies, colonoscopies and flexible sigmoidoscopies on the individuals referred to us, and to date we have received an excellent response from the patients seen within the clinic, with patient experience and satisfaction scores being rated as high.
As our award winning service develops, Primary Endoscopy Bristol are looking to expand the area from which our patient referrals originate, and we will soon be offering endoscopies to patients within the South Gloucestershire area, with an additional clinic day being utilised, and more nursing and healthcare support staff being recruited to accommodate this expansion. In addition, we have recruited a dedicated administrator to ensure that patients can have all of their telephone and written enquiries dealt with quickly and efficiently, supporting our service’s aim to deliver high quality patient care right the way through the patient journey.
