CQC guidance for out-of-hours and walk-in centres

Whilst the registration of ‘standard’ GP practices looks set to be deferred until April 2013, the Care Quality Commission have reported that those GP practices where the main activity falls into either an ‘out-of-hours’ or ‘walk-in centre’ category will need to finalise their registration process by April 2012.

Out-of-hours care is defined by the Care Quality Commission as primary medical care provided after 6.30pm and before 8am on weekdays, and at any time across a weekend or bank holiday.
